Fat Dissolve/ Lipolysis is an FDA approved cosmetic injection indicated for improvement in the appearance of submental fullness associated with submental fat in adults.
How Does Fat Dissolve/ Lipolysis Work and What to Expect?
The results of Fat Dissolve/ Lipolysis are not immediate. At your first treatment visit you will receive a series of injections in the submental area. At the time of injection and for several days following the injections, you will have swelling in the submental area.
Over the course of the next month following your injections, your injection will cause the fat cells to diminish in the area treated.
A series of treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results and these will occur at no sooner than the one month interval.
Pre-Care Instructions:
Do not drink alcoholic beverages 24 hours before treatment (to avoid extra bruising).
Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing or the use of hair removal creams on the area to be treated. Avoid Chemical peels and laser treatments.
Avoid taking blood thinning over-the-counter medication 3-7 days before treatment.
Do not use this treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Post-Care Instructions:
Stay in an upright vertical position for 4 hours following treatment.
You can apply an ice pack to the area to reduce swelling and bruising.
Drink plenty of water for 48 hours after treatment.
Avoid saunas, and Sunlight/UV exposure for 2 weeks.
You may take Tylenol/ Acetaminophen if you experience any tenderness or discomfort.
